10 Things We Love About... Celebrity Weddings

Whether we like to admit it or not, we all love to indulge in a bit of celebrity gossip and there’s nothing more gossip-worthy than a good old fashioned celebrity wedding!

There are so many reasons why we love them, but we managed to narrow it down to 10 reasons (feel free to add your own).

The star-studded guest list

One thing that you can always be guaranteed of at a celebrity wedding is a star-studded guest list. When Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes back in 2006, their guest-list was overflowing with A-List guests including David and Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez and Jim Carrey just to name a few!

The designer Dress

Here at Dreamwedding know that there’s nothing more important than finding your wedding dress. When you’re a celebrity, fashion’s biggest names like Dior and Chanel will fall at your feet in a bid to become your designer of choice. Angelina Jolie chose Atelier Versace for her wedding to Brad Pitt, while we can only dream!

Engagement rings

Marilyn Monroe once sang that 'Diamonds are a girl’s best friend' and when it comes to celebrity engagement rings the bigger the diamond, the better! Rapper Jay-z splashed out on a whopping 18-carat diamond ring for his proposal to R n’ B star Beyoncé. That's gonna make any rock our husband-to-be can afford look tiny!

The amazing Proposals

Almost as grand as the wedding itself, is the celebrity proposal. Rapper Kanye West hired out San Francisco’s AT+T baseball park for his proposal to reality star Kim Kardashian. The event, which was hosted in front of Kim’s close friends and family, featured fireworks as well as a 50-piece orchestra.

Lots of photo-ops

From candids to selfies to professional shoots, there’s nothing like a good celebrity wedding photo to feed our desire of pretending that we were there ourselves. Sure, who wouldn’t want to wear a pretty white dress while posing arm in arm with Ryan Reynolds? (Blake Lively is one lucky woman!)

The dream venue

From princess palaces to hillside retreats, celebrities pull out all the stops when it comes to finding their ideal wedding venue. Black-eyed Peas singer Fergie married her actor husband Josh Duhamel at Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu. Located on a hillside, this luxury French chateau has lush green surroundings as well as a swan-filled lake.

Ridiculous Receptions

Between private bands and co-ordinating décor, the reception of a celebrity wedding is every bit as glamorous as the ceremony. Donald Trump reportedly spent an estimated $100,000 when he hired upscale wedding planner Preston Bailey to make the floral arrangements for his wedding to Melania Knauss.

Loads of drama

We all love a bit of drama every now and again, and celebrity weddings are no exception. From multi-tiered cakes to Swarovski encrusted veils, no accessory is too extravagant! Take The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco for example, whose six-tier wedding cake was suspended from a crystal chandelier (check it out above!)

Endless budget

When it comes to a celebrity’s special day, no budget is too big. Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly spent a whopping $32 million on their royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011. If only we were born with royal blood!

Exotic Honeymoons

In keeping with tradition, it’s only natural that celebrities would want a lavish honeymoon to top off their luxury wedding. Actress Reese Witherspoon chose Italy’s Amalfi coast to kickstart her marriage to fellow actor Jim Roth. The couple’s honeymoon included a boat ride around the bay of Positano, one of the region’s most scenic towns.
