Glorious Green! Emerald wedding inspiration

Green might not be the first color you think of for your wedding, but don’t dismiss it! Did you know that green is most commonly associated with everything you actually want in your wedding? That is hope, renewal and vitality.

If your wedding is in the spring, then the array of greens that nature provides will be at its peak. With so many different shades to pick from, it’s a great color choice for bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. Thankfully it suits all kids of skin tones and hair colors. There are lots of shades to pick from, such as classic emerald, springtime lime, fresh clover, cool jade or dark olive - and you can choose the perfect hue to fit your theme and venue whilst incorporating the time of year at the same time!

Green is also complimented by an array of colors. For a bold statement add some red tones through a fiery bouquet, or white is also a perfect combination. Purple is another bold choice, while blue, the color next to green on the color wheel, is also a good choice.

In March, the Irish holiday, St. Patrick's Day is celebrated around the world. Some couples, whether Irish or not use this as a basis to form their wedding theme. Don’t be afraid to mix different shades of green as many wedding professionals, such as florists and wedding decorators, allow for a mixture of shades to add texture to the event.

You can have plenty of fun with favors and wedding decorations by having green seating, shamrock candles and place card holders, shamrock chocolate wedding favors with Celtic touches and good luck clover seeds. Just make sure that you remain tasteful in your approach - overkill on any one color might turn your guests green and that is not ideal!

Traditional Irish music is a great way of giving your Irish wedding that perfect touch. If you want to get the party started though, there are lots of great Irish bands and singers that will get your guests dancing long into the late hours. Want to find out more? Check out these ideas...
