Spotlight On: Louise Kennedy

Tipperary-born Louise Kennedy is an internationally renowned fashion designer who creates show-stopping designs that are timeless and classic. Since establishing her label in 1983, her clothes have been worn by everyone from royalty to stars of stage and screen, and she dressed Irish President Mary Robinson for her inauguration ceremony.

Since launching The Bridal Room in 2010 we have swooned over Louise's bridal couture, and the 2015 collection does not disappoint! Not only are these wedding dresses sophisticated and elegant, they also live up to Louise's reputation for the highest standards of workmanship. The 1930s inspired collection features gowns like Poppy - a fine lace gown with a scalloped lace neckline and delicate scatter beadwork. Zarah features a Swarovski encrusted bodice and a pleated skirt of silk georgette, while Sissi has a stunning starburst bodice in silk georgette.

These aren't your run-of-the-mill bridal gowns – Louise takes a completely individual approach to each commission and each piece is made to measure. Gowns like these are works of art and prices start at €3,995 (around $4,500). While they're not for the bride on a tight budget, they are still less than you would pay for a Galia Lahav. But if you want a bit of luxury on your wedding day then these gowns are for you.
