Summer Dream! Summer Wedding Inspiration
Summer is one of our favorite times of year – what's not to love about good weather and longer days. It's a season that evokes images of summer BBQs and days on the beach, sun filled days and warm evenings. People are happier and enjoying holidays, so it's the perfect season for a wedding!
The summer color palette ranges from bold shades of yellow, red and orange to pastel pinks, purples and blues. If you want a muted palette then choose subdued shades of silver, grey, rose and beige. Bold brides should choose pinks, reds and greens. If you're more of a nature lover then you can take inspiration from the world around you.
Cocktails are the perfect drink for a summer wedding, whether it's a classic mojito or a fruity and refreshing virgin cocktail. Ice tea and Pimm's are classic summertime drinks, while Prosecco, and of course Champagne, are also perfect drinks. Hot drinks are a no-no as are heavy drinks that will just send everyone to sleep.
Summer wedding food can be anything from a BBQ to a buffet. Food trucks are also a great way to feed your guests. There are so many options available, but heavy meals are probably best avoided. You can have some fun with your desserts and go retro with ice cream, frozen yoghurt or serve healthy fresh fruit.
There are also some great choices available in terms of wedding flowers during summer - think sunflowers, daises and gerberas. Yellows, bright greens and purples are all great colors for the season. Most of all, you want your summer wedding flowers to evoke memories of clear skies and sunny days filled with heady floral scents.
There's so much to be said for a summer wedding (there's a reason why it's a popular time of year to get married) so check out these ideas and our Pinterest board for inspiration!
