3 Honeymoon Cruises You Won't Have Thought Of!
Cruises make for wonderful honeymoons - a chance to experience the high life, visiting multiple destinations, enjoying the tasty (and always available) food and drinks, taking part in multiple shipboard activities or simply sitting back and relaxing in each other’s company. Caribbean cruises have always been popular with honeymooners, but if you’re hoping for something a little different here are three cruises you may not have considered.
The Inside Passage Cruise
Stretching from the northern edges of Washington State, past the Western coast of Canada, and up into Alaska, the Inside Passage is a coastal route for ships and liners that is now increasingly popular as a cruise destination. Far from the heat of the Caribbean, a cruise along the Inside Passage is all about the spectacular scenery, and visits to towns and cities you’d be unlikely to see on any other trip. Many cruises begin and/or end in Vancouver, Canada so be sure to spend time in this beautiful city.
European River Cruises
Cruises don’t have to be out on the ocean, and European river cruises are the perfect alternative to the open seas. If you’re interested in visiting multiple European cities and countries, and experiencing some of the culture, history, cuisine, and architecture first hand, a European river cruise would make the perfect honeymoon! Numerous options are available but popular cities to visit include Amsterdam (above), Cologne, Nuremburg, Vienna, and Budapest.
Amazon River Cruise
Ideal for the more adventurous newly married couples, an Amazon River cruise is very unique and a world away from the luxury cruise liners that tour the Caribbean! On the Amazon, the experience is far more unrefined. Cabins are comfortable and the food is tasty but you wouldn’t come on an Amazon River cruise for the amenities – the attraction is the Amazon itself, the regular excursions into the jungle, and the informative presentations on the people, plants and animals of the Amazon region. This is a honeymoon with a difference!
