5 bridal bouquets… with pretty peonies!

There’s no such thing as a favorite flower for anyone at Dreamwedding - how can you pick one out of so many beautiful things, especially when the one you do favor may only be available for a month out of the year? Tragedy!

But right about now? Peonies are almost in season and pretty as can be! They’re also deceptively versatile; go for a peony that’s just started to bloom and you can construct a very tight bouquet (a great modern touch we’ve seen is combining peonies with succulents) - or opt for a flower that’s a little further into its life span and it will have started to spill open, giving a looser, more relaxed, papery effect.

As for color, while you won’t find many green or blue peony varieties, they do complement a whole host of other flowers - try mixing them in with smaller roses, ranunculus (also in season, although not for long!), baby’s breath or simple greenery (eucalyptus is a gorgeous grey-green shade that gives the impression that your bouquet has already been Instagrammed - gorgeous!).

If you want to grow your own peonies for your wedding, best think ahead of time - they like to be planted in the fall, although there’s no guarantee they’ll bloom until spring of the year after next, so best hope for a long engagement!
