5 unusual Dallas Wedding venues

When organizing a wedding, finding a venue is at the top of the to-do list. Finding somewhere that stands out from the crowd is easier than ever since venues of all shapes, sizes and uses are open to the bride and groom. Why not break the mould with one of these unique venues.

Under the sea

Go underwater without getting wet by tying the knot at an aquarium! Options available at the Dallas World Aquarium include the Reef Room, the Rainforest and the aquarium which allow wedding guests to get up close and personal with marine life. If you want something less fishy you can surround your guests with Andy Warhol prints in the endangered species gallery. Catering is also available, although you might want to skip the fish option.

Surround yourself with music

Music is a big part of a wedding, and Dallas has lots of options for music fans. The Bass Performance Hall and the Maddox-Muse Center have breathtaking rooms like the grand lobby where the bride can make her entrance down a grand staircase. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra's home, the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, also doubles as a wedding venue and is one of the city’s most distinctive buildings.

Get married with history

History lovers can combine this with their love of another person by getting married in a museum. Get married with dinosaurs or surrounded by rare animals or mineral specimens at the Perot Museum! Alternatively, you could have a ceremony with a touch of local history in the restored courthouse that houses the Old Red Museum. Another option is the dramatic Museum of Biblical Art where photos can be taken under the Museum of Biblical Art, or have a wedding reception at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza which chronicles the life of President John F. Kennedy.

Have a sporting affair

Sports venues are generally very accommodating for wedding parties. If you want a sporting reception then you are spoilt for choice. Baseball fans should pitch a spot at the Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers, while Dallas Cowboys fans can choose from a number of reception spaces. The American Airlines Center is home to the Dallas Mavericks and also offers a different option for a wedding reception.

Raise a glass

Texas might not be the first state that comes to mind when you think of wine, but there are lots of vineyards that double up as wedding venues. Eden Hill vineyard in Celina, Wales Manor vineyard and winery in McKinney and the Delaney vineyards in Grapevine are just some of the vineyards that accommodate weddings in elegant surroundings.
