Here Comes the Sun: Yellow Wedding Inspiration

One of the lightest colors on the color spectrum, yellow is uplifting and illuminating. It’s a color that is filled with hope, happiness, cheerfulness and fun. So it’s the perfect color to feature on your wedding day!

While yellow might not be the first color you think of, and it conjures up images of taxis and canaries, it is a lot more versatile than you think. There are so many shades and tones of yellow, from soft lemon to the bold yellow of a Crayola crayon.

Sure, you might not want to walk down the aisle head-to-toe in yellow, but there are plenty of other ways to work the color into your wedding. Your invitations could be bright and summery, or your bridesmaids could wear dresses with a hint of pastel yellow. Bright yellow won’t suit every skin, but dark-skinned women can pull off a daring shade. Light-skinned women should stick to fairer tones of the color, or dresses that have a gradient of tones. If all-out yellow is still too much you can add a yellow sash or ribbon around their middle.

Shades of yellow look beautiful when they compliment other colors including white. Gray, pinks and cream, pastel blues and turquoise all compliment yellow. Black also works well next to the color and if you really want to make an impact you can team it with red.

While doing some research, we found a host of inspiration for planning a yellow themed wedding day , so take a look at our Pinterest board, which is brimming over with ideas!
