On the High Seas - Nautical Inspiration

We started thinking about nautical weddings in a serious way when we laid our eyes on tomorrow's real wedding, a beautiful cruise-ship affair with starfish, a decked-out captain and super-cute sun parasols that you just have to see (watch this space!). There's just so much scope for décor, clothing and super-cute DIY touches when you look to the sea for your wedding inspiration.

If you look at it in a slightly Disney-fied way, think about aqua or turqouise dresses for your 'maids, shells and sea shaped jewelry, striped linens and coral centerpieces. For a slightly more grown-up touch, a twist on monochrome with navy instead of black is divine and very grown up (think Ralph Lauren rather than Ariel!).

Your nautical wedding is also beyond perfect for a tea-length dress (and you know we love those!) - all of those steps and ladders and ropes don't lend themselves to full-length gowns. You can really have fun with your theme, channeling some slightly vintage vibes and enjoying life on the open seas for your big day! Because y'know, life under the sea is better than anything they got up there...
