Pet Project - How to Include Your Furry Friend in Your Wedding

Remember Amanda and Austin? They brought their beloved pooches along to their Nashville wedding, and there's no reason you can't do the same. Unless, y'know, you're having a super-fancy hotel wedding - in which case, check with your venue!

But if you're going for an outdoor celebration, there's no reason your furry friend (of the canine, feline or equine variety) shouldn't be included, whether you want their role to be central (doggy ring-bearer, anyone?) or auxiliary (roping in your pony to pose for photographs!).

If you are opting to bring your pet along, a great idea is to have your photographer take some practice shots during your engagement session - that way he or she can get used to your four-legged companion and figure out how best to get his or her attention. Also: bring snacks! A quick ask around the Dreamwedding office reveals that every pet responds well to bribery in food form.

Our final tip? Bring a wrangler - you know, a friend or family member who is comfortable and familiar with your pet. You don't want to have to deal with Buster's freakout over the large crowd while you're trying to get your photo session done, so having someone you can rely on to give him a quick rubdown and play fetch with him for a half hour will be invaluable!
