Up And Away! TRAVEL THEMED WEDDING INSPIRATION

Travel plays a big part in modern relationships. Whether it’s for work, business or pleasure we are all spending a lot more time on the road and in the skies. That means Cupid is drawing back his bow everywhere from airports to gas stations.

Thanks to the internet long-distance relationships are a lot easier and more manageable. Once upon a time you had to wait for the postman to deliver news from your lover on a weekly or monthly basis. Now you can WhatsApp messages and photos and get an instant reply, or chat on Skype or FaceTime.

Because so many modern couples meet when travelling or just spend their time going on adventures (some quit the rat race and take off for a few years), having a travel themed wedding is a cute and workable theme.

You can include little travel touches on your wedding invitations. Use old suitcases, maps and compasses as decorations. For centerpieces you could add little paper planes or a train set on each table. You can really let your imagination run wild!

Vintage props work well with a travel themed wedding. The bride can go for a vintage looking tea length dress which means you can make a quick escape to the next stop on your travels. You can even incorporate the theme in your music with songs like Sinatra’s Come fly with me, Peter, Paul and Mary’s Leaving on a jet plane,
