Whirlwind Romance: Tornado Crashes Wedding Shoot

When photographer Colleen Niska took a couple to a rural area near Saskatoon in Canada to shoot some wedding photographs, she didn't think anything out of the ordinary would happen. The last thing anyone expected was a tornado to gatecrash their session.

Posting the photos on Facebook, Colleen said, “Could NOT wait to post these! Pretty sure this will only happen once in my lifetime!”

As the tornado raged a safe distance behind them the couple agreed to carry on with the shoot, and boy are we glad they did! "We weren't really that scared," Colleen told a reporter from CBC news. "We had a vehicle ... we were so far away, we had time to get away."

The photographs went viral on Facebook, and it’s easy to see why. The couple have been overwhelmed by the response to the photographs, but have decided to remain private. Some commented that the photos were faked and created using Photoshop, but Colleen said that no alterations had been made to the photographs.

In June, Michael and April Wolber's wedding photos caught the world’s attention thanks to a backdrop of a raging wildfire in Oregon. Moments before the wedding ceremony was due to take place, firefighters told the couple that they would have to evacuate the area because the Two Bulls wildfire was fast approaching. But after some persuasion, the firefighters changed their minds and allowed a short ceremony to take place.
