Spotlight on: Berta Bridal

Berta Bridal is a name you'll have heard of if you've done, well, any basic wedding planning - the Israeli designer's gowns are everywhere. Although not quite literally - these figure-hugging, slinky dresses are stocked in more than 20 locations worldwide so remain relatively exclusive. Like fellow Israeli designer Galia Lahav, Berta's dresses are luxurious, opulent and sexy: perhaps not for the body-conscious (or the faint-hearted) and modest brides should probably look elsewhere. Like many other designers, Berta's gowns are made to measure - using hand embroidery and luxurious fabrics imported to her atelier in Israel - and the prices reflect that, with gowns starting at $6,000.

The good news? Many of Berta's dresses are actually two pieces - a bodysuit and skirt - which really helps when it comes to getting the perfect fit (we're not all a perfect size 2, so this way a 4-on-top, 6-on-bottom gal can get her gown in the perfect fit with no puckering) and dresses take from just three months to arrive from Israel to North America. Pretty impressive, right?

If these are all a little too fairytale-looking for you - those staircases are unbelievable! - check out a few real-life Berta brides on Iconosquare. See? Dreams really do come true!
