Boudoir beauty - an inspiration shoot
When hair stylist Loredana Howie got in touch with Dreamwedding to show us these photographs – from an inspiration shoot she and the “wedding dream team” did in Ayrshire, Scotland – we couldn’t wait to share them with our readers.
While a lot of current trends are leaning towards dreamy, fairytale, ethereal photo shoots – lots of leafy greenery, old dry stone walls and in-season wildflowers – and while we love that style (and will continue to show you more and more of it in the months to come!) it’s always a refreshing change to get something a little different, and this cute-yet-sexy (any excuse to paraphrase Crazy, Stupid, Love) photoshoot is certainly that!
The indoor location – another unusual choice – gives a boudoir effect to these snaps, while the floral printed curtains and soft floral garlands create an old-fashioned feel that means we wouldn’t be surprised if Mom came around the corner with a slice of pound cake to offer the crew!
We especially liked the attention to detail when it came to the hairpieces – not every bride who opts for a hairpiece will want full-on bling, so these sweeter, softer options are great to see. Our favorite is the Spanish-style Mantilla veil with the heavy lacy around the face: it creates such a beautiful vintage effect.
Loredana says: “Our plan was to create looks brides can identify with, not the generic wedding shoots we see in a lot of magazines – but something with charisma and personality.”
Model Ashley Easdon certainly brought both of those traits to the fore – don’t you just love her cheeky half-smile?
“We wanted to do these looks for inspiration for our own brides,” says Loredana (the crew has a full diary for 2014, so if you’re having a Scottish wedding and interested in getting in touch, do it soon!).
