Brides on film - our most memorable wedding scenes

The movie industry has given us so much. George Clooney, the entire Twilight saga and more weddings than you could hope to attend in a lifetime - from colored wedding gowns (Rachel McAdams in About Time, which, incidentally, is a very sweet way to spend 90 minutes) to enormous 1980s puffball creations (hello, Andie McDowell in Four Weddings and a Funeral) to beautiful, understated dresses that you'd be more than happy to be seen in today (Katherine Heigl in 27 Dresses - eventually).

While we're big fans of the OTT extravanganzas, we also love looking at wedding dresses on film that we could see ourselves wearing - it's like a stellar combination of entertainment and research! Kristen Stewart's Carolina Herrera gown in Twilight: Breaking Dawn (above), for example, was one of the most highly anticipated movie reveals of the past decade. Paparazzi were out in their droves trying to get a glimpse of the gown, with its incredibly detailed button-up lace back - but it wasn't until the film was released that we got the technicolor view. Here are a few more of our favorites!

And last but not least - because every bride should get to ride a horse in her gown...
