Real Wedding - Maja and Patrick in Iceland

We see a lot of weddings here at Dreamwedding HQ, but every now and again we get a wedding so special and unique that we cannot wait to share it. This is one of those weddings - the unique setting in southern Iceland was the spectacular backdrop for Maja and Patrick's wedding photos.

Because their families are spread across the globe, Maja and Patrick decided to break away from the traditional wedding and opt for a private ceremony with smaller, more local wedding receptions. They chose Iceland because of its landscape as Maja explains, “We chose Iceland because we just loved the unearthly, dramatic landscapes. Iceland turned out to be the perfect destination – so much more breathtaking in person, every turn of the road brought us to new, spectacular views."

Along with their photographer Mait Jüriado the couple drove over 800km over two days searching for the perfect locations to take their photos - and the results are awesome! The wedding day was fiercely windy and it meant that Mait's camera lens was constantly full of black sand and it was hard to move on the beach. They took photos on the ice lagoons, on the amazing rock formations and against a dramatic sky that contrasted perfectly with the bride's delicate Rami Kadi gown and vintage coat.

They stayed with a host they found on AirBnb who recommended a local florist that provided the gorgeous bouquet that was specially made to match Maja's gown. The bride wore shoes by Vivienne Westwood x Melissa while the groom wore a Hugo Boss with shoes from Ted Baker.
