Real wedding - Liz and Paul in Co Kilkenny, Ireland

Wading through the photographs from Liz Keehan and Paul Brady's wedding, shot by Simon O'Shea, there was one thing that stood out: laughter! Frame after frame, minute after minute, these newlyweds spent their whole wedding day, from the ceremony at St Mary's Cathedral in Kilkenny, to the reception at the Newpark Hotel, with great big smiles on their faces.

Check out that brooch bouquet! Liz made it herself, having seriously studied a YouTube tutorial and, she says, quite a few near misses. "It took five or six attempts - there was an awful lot of time put into it."

Liz and Paul knew the kind of wedding they wanted from day one - something "with a vintage theme, and a big band" - and the couple worked together to figure out the details.

"We were kind of on the same page about a lot of things," she says. "Initially, he said, 'listen, I'm happy for you to look after it - but I'd like input into a couple of things, like what I'll wear, the food, the music', and he's rhyming off all these things. I did all the research, but he really did have an input."

Liz's advice to any bride planning her big day? "Be open-minded - explore as many avenues as you can and get as much done, as early as possible," she says. "I got bogged down in a lot of small details. A lot of people came to me afterwards and said they'd noticed this or that, little things, and I was glad I'd put the effort in - but if I hadn't, it still would have been a great day."
